My First Day of High School

Today was my first day of high school and I was a little nervous. I didn't know anyone in my new school and I had heard that high school can be tough. But I was also excited to start this new chapter of my life.

When I arrived at school I was greeted by a group of upperclassmen who were giving out maps and showing the freshmen where to go. They were all so friendly and welcoming and it made me feel a lot better.

My first period class was English and I was relieved to see that it was a subject I enjoyed. The teacher was nice and the other students seemed friendly. We read a short story and discussed its themes and I felt like I could really contribute to the conversation.

Between classes I wandered around the school to get a better sense of the layout. It was a big school with lots of different buildings but I eventually figured out where everything was.

Lunchtime was a little intimidating because I didn't have anyone to sit with yet. But I eventually found a group of kids who were also looking for someone to sit with and we all sat together. They were really nice and we chatted about our classes and where we came from.
