Our current way of life has had a great impact on the earth such as the use of massive amounts of energy the production of waste and deforestation. If we do not take action the earth will become an uninhabitable place. Therefore each of us has a responsibility to take measures to protect our planet.

First of all we should reduce energy consumption. Turn off lights air conditioners TVs and other appliances open windows instead of using electric fans avoid using hot water and use cars as little as possible. Although these measures are small if everyone can do them they will have an important impact on the environment.

Secondly we should handle waste properly. Everyone should have the awareness of garbage classification separating recyclable items from non-recyclable items. This not only reduces the amount of waste but also protects the environment.

Finally we should protect forests. Forests are the lungs of the earth. They can reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the air absorb harmful gases and maintain the stability of water sources. We should support organizations that protect forests and avoid reckless deforestation.
