My Hand Slapping Experience with My English Teacher
As a secondary school student I once experienced a hand-slapping punishment from my English teacher. It happened during an English class when I was caught not paying attention to her explanation. She angrily pointed at my seat and told me to stand up then she hit my hand with a ruler. I felt so embarrassed and humiliated in front of my classmates.
I learned a few lessons from this experience. First I realized that being attentive in class is very important. If I had listened carefully to my teacher I would not have been punished. Second I understood that teachers may use different methods to discipline students including corporal punishment like hand-slapping. Although this may seem harsh it is acceptable as long as it is not excessive or abusive. Third I learned the importance of respect for authority. Even if I disagree with my teacher's method of punishment I should still obey her as a teacher and show respect to her position.
In conclusion the hand-slapping experience with my English teacher has taught me valuable lessons on the importance of attentiveness discipline and respect.
